Farewell to my Brother in Liberty

January 07, 2010

Neeld James Messler Sr., 62, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, was a friend and Brother in Liberty to me. Neeld died on December 26, 2009.

Neeld had most recently headed up a successful public-awareness campaign to muster maximum resistance that lead to defeating the implementation of privacy-violating and unconstitutional traffic surveillance cameras to be used for revenue enhancement in our quaint little town of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; a town of approximately 7,725 people. The measure was defeated unanimously by the Town Council.

Thank you Neeld.

Neeld also – virtually single-handedly pushed for the freedom of the people of the town to raise chickens on their property; if they so chose to. Personally, I don’t see for the need to ask permission from somebody to raise chickens on my property; but different communities come up with their various anti-property-rights agendas.

Once again… Thank you Neeld.

Neeld also was appointed to the town Tree Board where he again supported the rights of the property owners to plant, grow or cut down trees at their own discretion, without the hassle of government red tape.

Thanks again Neeld.

Neeld’s daily life consisted of copious amounts of freedom and liberty, for everybody; not just himself.

The impressions that you have left on those of us that have been fortunate enough to know you, are indelible. You have lead by example. Now we can lead by your example and spread the message that was second nature in your being.

You are sorely missed by those of us who knew you and loved you.

Rest in Peace, my Brother in Liberty
