Hamilton County Campaign for Liberty
Happy Holidays Everyone.

To all,
As a dedicated volunteer/organizer and member of the Campaign for Liberty, I would like a chance to discuss the group, our activities, goals, and scope. (especially as a new year and important times come upon us)
If anyone is not intimately familiar with this organization, are not familiar with its actions, follow our work, or know or goals… I strongly suggest it before becoming active amongst our ranks. Easily accessed on our national site is a plethora of available information about us and our activities.
Locally, we are involved in lobbying legislators, outreaching to media, hosting informative meetings arranging Liberty based activities… and as always outreaching to our community. We work to not let our personal agendas carry through, nor any other issue that does not build Liberty’s proper place of respect.
As of late, our e-mail system has been quite the issue of contention…
The meetup.com email system has been worth all of the funding that must go into it. For all of those who have taken part of this group since we worked together as the local Ron Paul candidacy meet up, the system has been indispensable. E-mail is in most cases possibly one of the best methods of contacting a person today.
As group coordinator I have been discouraged to hear how many people cannot find important e-mails, overlook then or have them tagged as spam. This is easily the largest hindrance to us. Also I can tell that many find it easy to only read or write e-mails, when they should be involved with sharing and spreading our work amongst the public communities.
As of now, the e-mail system will be saved for the purpose of direct messaging from the group coordinators to the group. All dues-paying members will be given coordinator status. Anyone interested in becoming a group coordinator just contact myself. If you have blocked our e-mails, I respectfully request you unblock the system. If you have any concerns, you can send them to me or any group coordinator. If you have articles and news to share, post them as blogs on your CfL site… http://www.campaignforliberty.com/usa/TN/Hamilton/
This facebook group as well as our meet-up site has forums and discussion space, please take full advantage of these.
We work hard to create events and spread messages of freedom and liberty throughout the community, to let it know there is a constituency dedicated to a rational solution for America’s lost way. In my capacity I care very little about the enemies of freedom. They should not be a concern for our group, I believe. I care about what should be. A focus on negativity will only result in that, more negativity.
We the people of America, at this time in history have risen in multitude against the tyrannical oppression that looms amongst the inner workings of our governance.
The Campaign for Liberty formed as a response to the condition of the nation and the lack of presence Liberty and Sovereignty holds. We rallied to the cause of restoring the dignity and rights of ourselves and our posterity.
We are looking to show the seriousness of all of those involved and the time for petty arguments or discussions is gone. How can we restore the republic? Am I free? What can we do to Campaign for Liberty? This is what we discuss. We are Hamilton County, we are Tennessee, we are Chattanooga, we are American, I am Me… This is what matters.
Do not think this is a petty group, or one distracted by elitist cabals and conspiracy. We are on a mission. If you would like to get involved and create a place of respect and honor for liberty and its way, then you have found your place.
Global, Federal, State, Corporation, Private, Civilian, Public, Military, Commerce, Sovereign, County, Person, Entity… Where does it end, what does it all mean to us? What is Liberty and what stands in its way?
Join us, this January, we will be creating our two year plan, hosting a candidates forum, traveling to Atlanta for the Campaign for Liberty conference, and holding our regular meeting.

*** Mission Statement:
Our mission at the Campaign for Liberty is to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a non-interventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.
*** Statement of Principles:
Americans inherit from our ancestors a glorious tradition of freedom and resistance to oppression. Our country has long been admired by the rest of the world for her great example of liberty and prosperity-a light shining in the darkness of tyranny.
But many Americans today are frustrated. The political choices they are offered give them no real choice at all. For all their talk of “change,” neither major political party as presently constituted challenges the status quo in any serious way. Neither treats the Constitution with anything but contempt. Neither offers any kind of change in monetary policy. Neither wants to make the reductions in government that our crushing debt burden demands. Neither talks about bringing American troops home not just from Iraq but from around the world. Our country is going bankrupt, and none of these sensible proposals are even on the table.
This destructive bipartisan consensus has suffocated American political life for many years. Anyone who tries to ask fundamental questions instead of cosmetic ones is ridiculed or ignored.
That is why the Campaign for Liberty was established: to highlight the neglected but common-sense principles we champion and reinsert them into the American political conversation.
The U.S. Constitution is at the heart of what the Campaign for Liberty stands for, since the very least we can demand of our government is fidelity to its own governing document. Claims that our Constitution was meant to be a “living document” that judges may interpret as they please are fraudulent, incompatible with republican government, and without foundation in the constitutional text or the thinking of the Framers. Thomas Jefferson spoke of binding our rulers down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution, and we are proud to follow in his distinguished lineage.
With our Founding Fathers, we also believe in a noninterventionist foreign policy. Inspired by the old Robert Taft wing of the Republican Party, we are convinced that the American people cannot remain free and prosperous with 700 military bases around the world, troops in 130 countries, and a steady diet of war propaganda. Our military overstretch is undermining our national defense and bankrupting our country.
We believe that the free market, reviled by people who do not understand it, is the most just and humane economic system and the greatest engine of prosperity the world has ever known.
We believe with Ludwig von Mises, Henry Hazlitt, and F.A. Hayek that central banking distorts economic decision making and misleads entrepreneurs into making unsound investments. Hayek won the Nobel Prize for showing how central banks’ interference with interest rates sets the stage for economic downturns. And the central bank’s ability to create money out of thin air transfers wealth from the most vulnerable to those with political pull, since it is the latter who receive the new money before the price increases it brings in its wake have yet occurred. For economic and moral reasons, therefore, we join the great twentieth-century economists in opposing the Federal Reserve System, which has reduced the value of the dollar by 95 percent since it began in 1913.
We oppose the dehumanizing assumption that all issues that divide us must be settled at the federal level and forced on every American community, whether by activist judges, a power-hungry executive, or a meddling Congress. We believe in the humane alternative of local self-government, as called for in our Constitution.
We oppose the transfer of American sovereignty to supranational organizations in which the American people possess no elected representatives. Such compromises of our country’s independence run counter to the principles of the American Revolution, which was fought on behalf of self-government and local control. Most of these organizations have a terrible track record even on their own terms: how much poverty have the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund actually alleviated, for example? The peoples of the world can interact with each other just fine in the absence of bureaucratic intermediaries that undermine their sovereignty.
We believe that freedom is an indivisible whole, and that it includes not only economic liberty but civil liberties and privacy rights as well, all of which are historic rights that our civilization has cherished from time immemorial.
Our stances on other issues can be deduced from these general principles.
Our country is ailing. That is the bad news. The good news is that the remedy is so simple and attractive: a return to the principles our Founders taught us. Respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, individual liberty, sound money, and a noninterventionist foreign policy constitute the foundation of the Campaign for Liberty.
Hamilton county, in the Great State of Tennessee, has a strong constituency committed to Liberty and the United States Constitution. We in the Campaign For Liberty are dedicated to working at all levels of government but first and foremost our local communities, to secure our freedoms. We are passionate about informing and educating our community, so they may make the best decisions possible, and defend their own Life and Liberty.
We are a group of your neighbors, we shop the same stores and fight for the same jobs. We are activists, amateur economists, *lobbyists by true definition, candidates, but first of all, Americans. Despite rumors and affiliations we are neither republicans nor democrats, we are NON partisan to the truest extent.
Will You Join Us to Restore Free America? Will You Join Us to Champion Liberty Here at Home?

We would like to welcome all the new members who have joined us recently as we continue our work to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.
We have a big year ahead of us, and a big month of January to kick it off. January 15-17 Campaign for Liberty will be holding one of their regional conferences in Atlanta, GA. The cost is very reasonable, and we hope that as many as possible will be able to get there for the fun and educational info, as well as networking with like-minded folks from the southeast. You can find out more and register at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/event/2010atlanta.php Many of us will be going down. Just let us know if you are interested in sharing rides or otherwise coordinating travel plans.
January 19th we’ll have our monthly Tuesday evening meeting at Ryan’s on Lee Hwy. Hoping you’ll make plans to join us from 7:00-8:30 pm. This meeting will be devoted to final preparations for the debate and plans for 2010.
Finally, to wrap up the big month, the TN 3rd district congressional debate on January 30th, which we are co-sponsoring, will be one not to miss. Seven candidates have committed to participate. Don’t wait until after the primaries to get involved!
2010 is almost upon us. All who are interested in getting more involved with planning upcoming C4L events are invited to join us for a planning session on Saturday January 9th at 7:00 pm at Hixson Panera.
One change you will notice with the group emails is that they are now reserved for communication by the meetup organizers and coordinators about upcoming events and other info related to Hamilton County Campaign for Liberty. For various related discussions by all members, our meetup bulletin board is available.
This purpose of this change is to allow discussion on the bulletin board by all members related to our efforts, while being able to maintain a highly effective communication tool with email for upcoming county activities. We don’t want important communications about upcoming events to get lost in the mix of communications.
Don’t hesitate to contact Jeremy with any ideas or questions you may have.
For liberty,
Jeremy Dahl, Hamilton Co. C4L Coordinator

With the state of Tennessee affirming its position with the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, what is the point if we continue to consent our sovereignty away?
The Federal House of Representatives is in the process of again limiting our freedom for more invisible prosperity, with passing their version of nationalized health care, an issue which is not expressly delegated by the constitution. Not even the courtesy of amendment, an insult to our supreme law and republic.
If you truly respected and champion the economy and freedom of this state, then you would author and/or sponsor legislation protecting our citizens from having their rights and pursuit of happiness taken from them. Protect us, be a servant of the Constitution, and our Great Sovereign State of Tennessee.
The rhetoric of the supporting party in the US Congress on the night of passing was so abhorrent to our republic and to the divine unalienable rights that are inherent to us. The nation is ill; lies deception ignorance and confusion all blend together.
General welfare is not a right, or provided service, it’s the duty of the state to make sure it protects all citizens, not the powerful or wealthy.
I Jeremy Brian Dahl, openly denounce the unconstitutional and illegal acts of the Federal Government, and request that you, my representatives uphold your oath and duty. Your apathy to do nothing will be consent that will be recognized by the people, your initiatives of diligence, honor, and liberty will be remembered for all times.

Had a great day at the Shriner’s Gun Show Today. Great to see everyone who came out, Good work spreading the good constitutional news!
Between the Libertarian Partiers, Constitutional Defender, Candidate for Tn Gov. Joe Kirkpatrick, a lil Oath-keepers information and Us, We had that show on a constitutional law “lock down”. As always we handed out as many CfL Declaration/Bill of Rights sheets as would be taken, engaged everyone, and gave Constitutions to the young people.
(Bill and George got to serve as our honorary “buddies of the weekend”)
We entered into most conversations with constitutional perspectives on current issues and freedom, and had many lively interactions. Of course all the while facilitating education, with key books, literature and information available or on display.
All in all, another great show.
A special thanks goes out to Dan Rawls and Michael Scallia, keep up the amazing jobs guys!

(Picture dedicated to Matt Collins)
This month’s meeting will be another fun and interactive one. Issues on the table will be numerous, of which will be a local focus and highly informative. Metro Government, County Sheriffs, Sound Money and protect your Finances, Constitutional Approaches, ect.
Have a good Liberty question for a candidate? Have a topic you would like to learn more about? Show up and let us know!
We are actively involved in making the LiberTea Debate, Jan. 30th, a bastion of American Freedom, and a message to our congress.
Do not miss this one, and as always invite everyone you can to weigh in or sit in. (November 17th, Tues at 7, Lee Hwy. “Ryans”)
I Jeremy Dahl still proudly serve as facilitator and coordinator for the Campaign for Liberty in Hamilton County Tennessee. Thanks to everyone who quickly responded with care and concern.
